But I've never used a straight edge in my drawings before.
I use small, precise strokes to make up a line, as I can't draw a steady line to save my life.
You're overthinking my image.

You're overthinking my image. You're overthinking mine. Person A's drawing style typically involves overdefined, prominent features and sharp, straight angles. Person B parodies this, likening it to drawing with a straightedge. Person A has to clarify that he does not in fact use one. Person A is overthinking the joke.

Actually, any professional artist would tell you that using small, precise strokes to make up lines is bad technique. Doing so leads to imprecise lines as a whole, especially if you're using primarily your wrists. Good technique uses a full range of motion from your arms and shoulders to make a single sweeping straight line. In this case, you're better off using a straight edge until you learn otherwise.

It's a common mistake that a lot of novices make when drawing; they consciously construct form with short lines to make their work look more "sketchy". Using less lines for contours and lines makes it look cleaner.
Best way to practice is to draw pages full of lines, curves and circles with a full range of physical movement until it becomes muscle memory.

Hai thar! Yes, that's right, not even the Art board is save from me! Anyway, I decided to post some stuff here, but don't have 'nuff stuff for a own thread. First, we have a remade version of Windows XP's Login background, for use as a Login Background for Windows 7. (1280x800 only) Then, we have this nice Background that is said to originate from a computer gone wild. 1280x800: 1280x1024:
