the main challenges i've noticed in profile drawing is positioning of the eye and trying not to overcomplicate the mouth.
also, for some strange reason or another, everyone has a giant looking nose from the side.

It's not actually that strange. Even people with extremely small noses have it sticking out of their face when viewed from the side. It only comes odd because when drawing you (or when looking at people, really) your main focus goes to the eyes and the mouth, seeing as the nose isn't as expressive as the other two. Why else do you think stick figures barely ever have noses? (<- note: not a know-it-all, he just realized it right now)That's what watching anime-like drawings for all of your life does to your senses. |
