1. Load maps externally
2. Stretch the hell out of them, so that this game doesn't take up 700 MB
Draw map at 1/4 size.
Set the room size to 4x the map size.
Set the background to stretch to the room size.
Create event of mapmask >> image_xscale=4 image_yscale=4
Alright, I did it.
I worked on the game for about an hour today, made some improvements:
The levels are now at 1/4th size, and stretch out to their proper lengths when used. Works perfectly.
All entities and objects move to object.x=object.x*4, and the same thing for their Y coordinates.
Platforms now bounce off solids. Yay, you can't ride them THROUGH objects anymore (Not that it's possible in the betas anyways)
Got rid of a LOT of unnecessary and huge sprites which will make the game load faster, hopefully. I'm still working on getting the music in a separate folder, but since that will decrease load time, I'll do it. I'm so goddam thoughtful.
And that's the latest update for the moment. Since it's all code and technical shit, there's no reason (or way) to make a new beta with noticeable differences. However, this train just keeps chuggin' along.
