I'm making this

A. because no one reads and or understands stickies
B. I want to stop spamming my hat thread

Once I jumble enough images, I'll be able to get a slideshow thing going, but first post now

Port Fowarding 101: the visual Guide (Vista and Windows 7 XP might need adjustments)

1. Open Command prompt

-->Start-->accessories--->Command Prompt

2. Type in ipconfig and press enter:

3. Look at this:

This is your local ip, Jot it down for further use

4. Look under the gateway thing, that's your router ip, in my case my one would be
192.168.1.1

add

http://

in front of it so that it is like
http://192.168.1.1
And follow the link

NOTE THAT IT WILL MOST LIKELY BE DIFFERENT FOR YOU

5. Now this part will be tricky
You will be prompted for a password

go to this site here:
http://cirt.net/passwords
and find your router, unless you've changed the password yourself, then you should find your routers password here

6.
Once on your router's page, go to the tab that says applications and gaming
There you will port foward

7.

You will see a screen like this, in a new box, put in GG2 as an application name and your local ip from earlier as an IP, for the ports put in 8190 and 8190 and click "enable"

NOTE: YOUR local ip IS YOUR ORIGINAL IP FROM COMMAND PROMPT FROM STEP TWO, IF THE IP ENDS IN THE SAME WAY AS YOUR DEFAUTL GATEWAY, THEN THAT IS NOT YOUR LOCAL IP

You're finished port forwarding! But... your server won't work behind your firewall

Opening up your firewall

Open up windows firewall:

start--->Control Panel--->Classic View--->Windows Firewall

Then click on "Allow a program through the firewall"

Then click on Add port on the bottom, Fill in GG2, and port number 8190 and TCP

CONGRATULATIONS YOU SHOULD HAVE PORT FORWARDED!

I did all the steps that the port forwarding website told me to do, then I got to the end, only to find out that my computer has an "automatic ip" and doesn't give it to me.  z7

Do you shut down your computer every day?

Hmm, weird how I can host a server without having to do all this port forward mumbo jumbo.

First thing is first, make sure that gang garrison is set to "announce to lobby"

Also post a pic of your "Applications and Gaming" page

Hamachi, but people that want to play on your sever have to manually join and be in your Hamachi server.
So it's useless.
